It is the time of year when young children prepare to start school. This is a time of mixed emotions for children, who may be feeling both excited and nervous about the prospect of starting school. But rest assured: schools in Naka Ward are friendly places providing kids with plenty of after school clubs and activities.

Naka Ward is a thriving part of the port-town of Yokohama, and many foreign residents live here; in fact, they comprise over 10 percent of the ward ' s population. In order to create a ward in which everyone can live a full and safe life regardless of their nationality or roots, in 2017 Naka Ward Office established the Naka Ward Multicultural Coexistence Promotion Action Plan and is working to promote policies for multicultural coexistence.
We have now put together a proposal for the Second Term Naka Ward Multicultural Coexistence Promotion Action Plan, which is intended to operate between 2021 and 2024 and are asking people to submit feedback on it and make suggestions.
